SNOT Vocalist ANDY KNAPP Suffers Leg Injury After Stage Dive at Chester Show, Plays Download Anyway

SNOT vocalist ANDY KNAPP is nursing a significant leg injury following a stage dive that went wrong at the band's June 12 headlining show at The Live Rooms in Chester, UK — but that didn't stop him from taking the stage at Download Festival less than 24 hours later.

Guitarist MIKEY DOLING shared details via social media, vividly capturing the energy of the Chester crowd: "The entire room was singing along with Andy, and we were levitating from their infectious fired up enthusiasm." Then it went sideways. Knapp's stage dive sent him falling between the stage and the barricade, resulting in a large hematoma on his leg. X-rays ruled out any fractures.

Despite the painful injury, Knapp refused to pull out of Download Festival at Donington Park on June 13. The sight of a vocalist gutting through physical pain to honor a major festival slot speaks directly to SNOT's live reputation and Knapp's commitment to the band's fans.

The band is currently in the studio recording their first full-length album with Knapp on vocals, produced by CHRIS COLLIER. Knapp made his live debut with SNOT in January 2025 after the band had spent several years in relative hibernation. Touring guitarist DOC COYLE (GOD FORBID, ex-BAD WOLVES) joined the lineup in April 2025 following SONNY MAYO's departure.

SNOT rose to prominence in the mid-1990s Santa Barbara heavy music scene and are best known for their 1997 debut "Get Some" and the charismatic original frontman LIN BRENNAN, who died in a car accident in 1998 at the height of the band's momentum. The band has continued in various forms since, keeping the spirit and sonic ferocity of the original alive. With a new album in the works, there's genuine reason to believe the next chapter could be the most vital yet.
