RUADH to Support 1914 at the Band's First Scottish Show in Glasgow

RUADH will support 1914 at the Ukrainian band's first-ever Scottish show, at Ivory Blacks in Glasgow on Friday, December 4. The news was announced exclusively in our interview with Joe and Alina of Slava Ukraine Metal Fundraiser, who are putting on the show. All proceeds go to Ukraine.

"It's Friday, 4 December, at Ivory Blacks in Glasgow. Support comes from RUADH," Alina told us at the end of the interview, after the pair decided to give The MetalList the exclusive.

RUADH are a Scottish folk/black metal band, and the pairing has history. "They were actually supposed to tour the UK with 1914 in 2023, a whole tour that never materialised," Joe said. "So we figured, why not invite them to play?" Joe was due to promote a Glasgow 1914 show back then too, and Alina was set to play support before the tour was cancelled. RUADH also played the very first Slava Ukraine fundraiser in Glasgow in late 2022.

1914, from Lviv, have never played the UK before: wartime exit permits kept the band off the road for years, as vocalist Dmytro Kumar told us in our interview earlier this year. Joe and Alina met Dmytro in Lviv this autumn, which, they say, got the Scottish date over the line. Slava Ukraine is also co-organizing 1914's shows in Leeds and Plymouth on the same run.

The Glasgow night follows the usual Slava Ukraine format: a Ukrainian bakery, a "Made in Ukraine" merch market and a merch raffle alongside the bands. The show is 18+, doors open at 8pm, and 200 tickets are available.
