BRUCE DICKINSON: First Single From New Solo Album Due In About Ten Days

Bruce Dickinson says the first single from his upcoming eighth solo album will arrive in roughly ten days, together with a music video. The IRON MAIDEN frontman shared the timeline on Sunday, November 1, in an interview with Chile's Radio Futuro. The album itself is due in early 2027 via BMG.

"People will hear it — the first single is out in, like, 10 days or something," Dickinson said. "We'll drop the video, and the videos are extraordinary." He hinted the clip may ruffle some feathers: "If you thought that you're gonna have problems with the Catholic church, they might have a problem with this video." According to Bruce, the video is about truth — "Everybody's talking, but nobody's listening. Everybody's talking, but nobody's telling the truth" — aimed at bloggers, influencers and politicians alike.

Dickinson also doubled down on his earlier claim that the record was made without artificial intelligence or samples. "A.I. is not creative. All it does is copy," he said. The band worked 12-hour days for three weeks and tracked 18 songs in total — more than fit on one record. "Some are left over, 'cause we couldn't get them all on the album; otherwise it would be a double album," he explained.

The follow-up to 2024's The Mandrake Project was recorded mostly in January and February at Dave Grohl's Studio 606 in Northridge, California, with producer Brendan Duffey, who also mixed it at his studio in Jupiter, Florida. Duffey previously handled More Balls To Picasso, the reworked version of Bruce's second solo album released in July 2025. The lineup features guitarists Chris Declercq and Philip Näslund, bassist Tanya O'Callaghan, keyboardist Mistheria and drummer Dave Moreno. The album includes a collaboration with Bruce's son Austin, former frontman of RISE TO REMAIN and AS LIONS, and SEPULTURA guitarist Andreas Kisser adds percussion.

In August, Dickinson filmed a video in the Nevada desert with horror icon Bill Moseley and director Leo Liberti, who also made the recent "Change Of Heart" and "Tears Of The Dragon" clips. Last week he announced the "PsychoGod" European tour for summer and fall 2027 — his first solo dates since "The Mandrake Project" tour ended in Brazil in September 2025 after 71 shows.
