Seattle blackened sludge trio STRICKEN are streaming From Dark Dimensions An Unspeakable Presence Awakens in full via Everything Is Noise, three days before the album's release this Friday, November 6, on Horror Pain Gore Death Productions.
The five-track record follows the band's 2022 debut, From A Well Of Emptiness, A Stygian Serpent Born. We covered the album announcement in September and the "Dust From The Grave" visualizer in October; now the whole thing is out in the open.
The album was made in-house: guitarist Nick Charlton engineered it, drummer Chris Wozniak (LAIR OF THE MINOTAUR, EARTHEN GRAVE) mixed it, James Plotkin mastered it at Plotkinworks, and Tom Denney painted the cover. Bassist/vocalist Rob Ropkins completes the lineup.
Wozniak says the band was still finding its identity on the debut but has "officially found it here", with more consistent tones and songwriting. It isn't a concept album, he adds, but the band hopes people will listen to it start to finish as if it were. Charlton calls the road to release "long" and "grueling" and thanks everyone who has come to their shows.
In its premiere, Everything Is Noise points out that the opener's twists should appeal to NEUROSIS fans who want "a little CONAN energy" in the mix, while "Touch Of Corruption" leans on blast beats and a HIGH ON FIRE-style retro edge.
STRICKEN are lining up regional dates in support of the record and are already working on new music.
