3 INCHES OF BLOOD vocalist Cam Pipes has confirmed that the reunited Canadian power/thrash metal act is actively working on new songs and plans to release new music in 2027. Speaking during an interview at Houston's Hell's Heroes festival, Pipes stated: "There is a plan to write some songs. We are working on new stuff."

The band intends to spend much of 2026 focused on the songwriting process before picking up the pace with performances in 2027 as new material becomes ready to release. Guitarist Shane Clark elaborated on the band's meticulous approach, noting they won't put out anything "that we don't think is up to snuff."

Clark also confirmed that 3 INCHES OF BLOOD remain signed to Century Media Records, though the band hasn't yet decided whether to release a full-length album or individual singles — acknowledging how the music consumption landscape has shifted dramatically toward singles in recent years.

The Vancouver band reunited in January 2024 after disbanding in 2015, having initially formed in 1999. The reception from fans has exceeded the band's own expectations. Their classic albums, including "Advance and Vanquish" (2004) and "Fire Up the Blades" (2007), are regarded as touchstones of North American power metal.

With new music on the horizon, one of heavy metal's most energetic live acts appears to be back in full force.
