After more than four decades of shaping heavy metal, IRON MAIDEN have been officially confirmed as part of the 2026 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee class. The announcement came alongside an eclectic group of honorees including Phil Collins, Billy Idol, Joy Division/New Order, Oasis, Sade, Luther Vandross, and Wu-Tang Clan.
The induction ceremony is scheduled for November 14 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, with the event set to air on ABC and Disney+ the following month. Ironically, IRON MAIDEN will be on the other side of the globe that day — they have shows booked for November 13 in Melbourne and November 15 in Sydney, Australia, as part of their ongoing world tour.
The inductees from the band's history span multiple eras: current members Bruce Dickinson, Steve Harris, Nicko McBrain, Adrian Smith, Dave Murray, and Janick Gers, as well as former members Dennis Stratton, Paul Di'Anno, Blaze Bayley, and the late Clive Burr.
Band manager Rod Smallwood commented: "It's always nice to be recognized and honored for achievements within the music industry too," while emphasizing that the band's priority remains "our relationship with our fans above anything else."
The induction is a long-overdue recognition for a band that has sold over 100 million records worldwide, headlined virtually every major metal festival on the planet, and inspired generations of musicians across all metal subgenres. IRON MAIDEN's entry into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame closes a glaring omission that fans had been pointing to for decades.
