TESTAMENT have released the remastered edition of their landmark 1989 album Practice What You Preach today via Nuclear Blast Records. Remastered by Justin Shturtz at Sterling Sound, the upgraded version of the Bay Area thrash classic arrives with significant physical enhancements: fresh artwork by original cover artist Bill Benson, a 20-page booklet filled with archival photos and personal notes from vocalist Chuck Billy and guitarist Eric Peterson, plus new liner notes putting the album in historical context.
The centrepiece of the physical release is a limited 180-gram vinyl pressing in yellow and orange swirl with black splatter, restricted to 1,250 copies worldwide. Digital formats are also available from today.
Originally released in 1989, Practice What You Preach achieved near-gold status and became TESTAMENT's first record to crack the Billboard 200 top 100, bringing Bay Area thrash into the mainstream without diluting its ferocity. Tracks like "Practice What You Preach," "Perilous Nation," and "Envy Life" remain defining moments of late-1980s thrash metal.
Chuck Billy expressed his enthusiasm for the reissue: "I am stoked about the remastered 'Practice What You Preach' release with Nuclear Blast. With new artwork and bigger sound than the original. Drop the needle and bang your head!!"
The release comes as TESTAMENT continues to tour on their Thrash Of The Titans world run featuring OVERKILL and DESTRUCTION, keeping the band firmly in the spotlight on both historical and current fronts.
