DOLIA, the rising symphonic and progressive metal band from Bosnia and Herzegovina, have unveiled "Duet," a cinematic new single and accompanying music video that serves as the second chapter of an ambitious conceptual trilogy.
The trilogy draws on the ancient Slavic legend of Morana, the goddess associated with winter, death and rebirth, and continues the story the band began with their debut single "The Gift." Built around sweeping orchestration, dramatic dynamics and a strong cinematic atmosphere, "Duet" showcases a band reaching for scale and theatricality far beyond their years.
At the center of DOLIA stands vocalist Sara Vojicic, the daughter of Bosnian rock legend Mladen "Tifa" Vojičić. Her powerful, emotive voice anchors the new track, which pairs symphonic grandeur with the heavier, riff-driven backbone of progressive metal.
"'Duet' is a song about the duality that exists within all of us and the constant battle between different sides of our personality," Vojicic explained. "Compared to our debut single 'The Gift,' 'Duet' carries more strength, but also more vulnerability."
The single was crafted by a notable team. Orchestration and production were handled by Riad Music, with Erik Müller also contributing, while mixing and mastering were completed by Simon Jovanovic at Studio Evolution in Slovenia. The striking music video was directed by Tarik Hodzic, leaning into the song's narrative themes with a cinematic visual approach.
DOLIA plan to release their debut full-length album before the end of 2026, in both digital and physical formats, with "Duet" offering the latest glimpse of what the record holds. For a band still early in its career, the ambition on display — a multi-part concept rooted in Slavic mythology, orchestral arrangements and high-end production — signals serious intent within the crowded symphonic metal field.
With female-fronted symphonic metal continuing to thrive across Europe, DOLIA arrive as a promising new voice from a region not always associated with the genre, and "Duet" makes a confident case that they are worth watching closely.
