Sweden's TIAMAT have finished filming the promotional video for their new single "Cain" with Revolver Film Company's (www.revolver.se) award-winning director Patric Ullaeus (DIMMU BORGIR, WITHIN TEMPTATION, PASSENGER). "Cain", due on September 29 through Century Media Records, will contain a radio edit of the album opener, the straight, up-tempo rocker "Love In Chains", and an exclusive cover version of the old W.A.S.P. classic "Sleeping (In The Fire)" — all packaged in a nice digipak with cover artwork by mainman Johan Edlund himself. "Cain" comes off TIAMAT's eighth studio album, "Prey", due on October 27 through Century Media. San Francisco power/thrash metallers IMAGIKA have announced the addition of vocalist Norman Skinner (MACHINE CALLED MAN, TRAMOTANE) to the band's ranks. Skinner replaces longtime singer David Michael, who left IMAGIKA in August because his "heart wasn't in it anymore," according to an official statement from the rest of the group. IMAGIKA's fourth album is due in early 2004 through an as-yet-undisclosed label. The band, who were previously signed to Germany's Massacre Records, released their last CD, "And So It Burns", in October 2000.
Finnish black metallers ARTHEMESIA have parted ways with drummer Mor Vethor. "Mor Vethor had to leave the band, because his skills didn't match the requirements of our music, thus all recordings [for our new album] are now cancelled," the band write on their official web site. "We will restart the recording sessions again in the late spring [2004] with our new drummer. And I promise our new drummer will blow your head away (we will inform his name sooner or later, let's keep some secrecy for awhile)! Consider yourselves warned! Due to the postponed studios, the album will be out in October 4th [2004]." The group, whose style is being described in an official press release as "an extremely powerful hybrid of black metal and death/thrash/heavy metal with a touch of classical and dark ambient music," are planning on recording and mixing their upcoming album, "ShamaNatahS - II Describe I Mind", in three different studios (Christslayer, Hellhole and Sonic Pump) before mastering it at Finnvox Studios (NIGHTWISH, STRATOVARIUS, SONATA ARCTICA) with Mika Jussila. Reunited Long Island, New York-based death metallers PYREXIA, who recently signed an exclusive distribution deal with Crash Music, will be entering Sabella Studios in October to record their newest full-length opus, "Cruelty Beyond Submission". A January 2004 release via a partnership between Rex Records (PYREXIA's label) and Deepsend Records is expected.

SENTENCED has recorded supporting song for Oulun Karpat, ice hockey team in Oulu. Song is called "Routasydan" and its first ever Sentenced song in Finnish. Song is composed by Miika Tenkula and lyrics are by Sami Lopakka. 'The idea came from Karpat. They wanted us to do a song and same time little bit renew the form supporting songs usually have. First of all we made a demo song that sounded like us and then when they liked it we went straight to the studio', Ville Laihiala tells. 'I'm a hard supporter of Karpat so this is like honor thing', Ville continues. "Routasydan" will be published on CD that contains also previous supporting songs of Karpat. It will be available in early october at Karpat Fan-shop.
DREAM THEATER have revealed that their forthcoming new studio album will be titled "Train Of Thought" and have set a release date of November 11 for the record. The album - the follow-up to 2002's "Six Degrees Of Turbulence" - was produced by guitarist John Petrucci and drummer Mike Portnoy, with mixing duties performed by Kevin 'Caveman' Shirley. The much-anticipated eight-disc BLACK SABBATH box set, "Black Box: The Complete Original Black Sabbath (1970-1978)", is due on November 4. The collection will feature remastered versions of the band's albums with Ozzy Osbourne behind the mike, as well as a live DVD with previously unseen footage. Retailing for $99.98, the set features the classic albums "Black Sabbath", "Paranoid", "Master of Reality", "Vol. 4", "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath", "Sabotage", "Technical Ecstasy" and "Never Say Die!". The original SABBATH lineup supervised the box set, along with executive producer Sharon Osbourne.
Sweden's CONSTRUCDEAD, the band featuring TERROR 2000 drummer Erik Thyselius, have set "Violadead" as the title for their sophomore album, tentatively due in January through Sound Pollution Records. The follow-up to 2002's "Repent" was recorded and is currently being mixed at Helsingborg's Queenstreet Recording with producer Richard Larsson. The album will be released both in jewel-case and a limited-edition digipack version. The group, who were recently joined by GODSIC frontman Peter Tuthill, were previously signed to Cold Records.
MORBID ANGEL's forthcoming CD, "Heretic", will be released in several different formats, according to the group's label, Earache Records. "Heretic" — due in Europe on September 22 through Earache Records — was recorded and mixed at D.O.W. (Diet Of Worms) studios in Seffner, Florida and was co-produced by the band and longtime front-of-house mixing engineer Juan "Punchy Gonzalez. The album — the group's ninth overall release (including their 1986 "Abominations Of Desolation" demo and the 1996 live album, "Entangled In Chaos") — marks a return to the fold of bassist/vocalist Steve Tucker, who originally left the band in early April 2001 due to "personal and family problems." The release date of ICED EARTH's new album, "The Glorious Burden", has been officially pushed back to January 13, 2004 (a day earlier internationally), according to SPV Records. A single containing the tracks "The Reckoning (Don't Tread On Me)", "When The Eagle Cries" (Unplugged), "Valley Forge" and "Hollow Man" will be released on October 27. "The Glorious Burden" is the group's first CD to feature new vocalist Tim Owens (ex-JUDAS PRIEST), who replaced Matt Barlow earlier in the summer. Veteran death metallers CANNIBAL CORPSE will be heading back to the studio on September 15 to start the recording process for the follow-up to last year's "Gore Obsessed", due in early 2004 through Metal Blade Records. Norway's SUSPERIA have signead a record deal for threee albums with Tabu Recordings - sublabel of Tuba Records. As previously reported, on 24th of September band will enter a studio to record their new third album, tenatively untiteled "Unlimited". Next year February release is expected.
NECROPHAGIA frontman Killjoy and cult horror actress and singer with band JEZEBEL, Eileen Daly ("Cradle of Fear", "Razor Blade Smile") have agreed to collaborate on a number of music and film projects. To begin with KILLJOY will be remixing and preparing a much darker version of the track "Lector And Bundy" from JEZEBEL's album "Forbidden Fruit", Killjoy comments: "I'm really looking forward to working with Eileen, artistically and vocally she has an extremely unique vibe, in this day and age when most female vocalists' are trying to sound masculine, Eileen grabs the proverbial goat by the horns and injects a much needed dose of "femme fatal" into the scene ... she has the most unlimited potential of anyone I know !!! Eileen definitely has what I call "The Dark Gift". Later this year Killjoy and Eileen Daly are planning to collaborate on some UK horror and gore filming in conjunction with horror maestro Alex Chandon whose directorial work can be seen in numerous CRADLE OF FILTH videos and the blood-soaked feature "Cradle Of Fear". Killjoy and Eileen DALY will also be working on some new NECROPHAGIA songs where Killjoy's and Daly's distinctive vocal styles are expected to create whole new levels of aural mayhem and menace.
