Ind: It goes without saying you band mane sound very similar to Crown of Thorns, why did pick such a moniker? Doesresemblance irritate you a bit?Cooper: We got to know about Crown of Thorns after we had named our band. These Swedes are not that famous, youknow, they had to rename themselves because of American pop rock band. In fact I didn't listen to none of these two bands. Iguess it would be a problem if we were called DEATH or something…
Frost: Many band have similar monikers, and one can bever be sure he is original enough.
Ind: Metal scene in Nizhny Novgorod used to be quite active. We can hardly call it active now. So what's the reason?
Frost: The scene is just feeble now. Punk or rap are in favour. Metal is too much for a teenager. Besides we canhardly find an appropriate club to play alive, the rent is extremely expensive and tickets are also expensive and no one iswilling to pay much for the tickets. The same concerns rehearsal bases, and finally fans prefer vodka drinking - ourfactories produce excellent vodka. It's a great pity that many musicians finally become alcohol addicts.
Ind: "In the Name of Moonlight" has a good production. Tell a few words about your label.
Frost: Fatal Forum is a young label, we are its first release. Of course we express our gratitude to Pavel Glumin,Fatal chef, and everyone involved into this album.
Ind: Black metal influences prevail in your music. Many folks say that it is too late to start playing black metal now.
Frost: We play what we want to play trying to remain ourselves. Nowadays it is a standing joke to talk about beingtoo late. Well then all bands launching to play death, doom, grind or thrash are too late.
Ind: Is there any sense in playing metal in our time, in our country, there are no conditions at all!
Frost: My years dedicated to metal music are my years. Composing music and playing gigs is a grand encouragement.Yeah, Russia is not that good for playing metal now but still...
Ind: Looking through your lyrics I found out you don't care much about being conceptual.
Frost: Right, every track is very individual. All songs are entwined into amorphous descriptions maybe. One canfind too many romanticists feeble in writing good verses. I prefer well done verses to ravings of false poets.
Ind: Which was the most encouraging event in your history?
Cooper: Hasn't occurred yet.
Ind: Nearest prospects then?
Cooper: Keep on playing and working hard.
Fast: Recording dance music and touring with best pop acts.
Ind: Last good-byes.
Frost: Thanx for your attention, sorry if we were not brilliant with our answers. We are not doing many interviewsindeed.
